Thornham is a beautiful North Norfolk coastal village. In recent years it has become a hub for new restaurants, shops and the list gets better with new openings. Check the Drove Orchard instagram below with a new Bakery, Wine Shop and Nopa reopening soon.

The Orange Tree

The Orange Tree is a great pub for food, it is the best for a good gastro pub meal in Thornham. It is table service only so if you want to eat inside we recommend booking. There are lots of benches outside for a lazy afternoon drink. https://theorangetreethornham.co.uk/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

The Lifeboat Inn

Our menus alter seasonally to take advantage of the fantastic provenance of the local area.  From our crab salad in the courtyard throughout the Summer months, to our hearty haddock and chips in front of the fire in winter.

Honest, tasty, and satisfying. It’s the simple pleasures that make a pub feel like home – a laid-back breakfast, a bite with a pint, a proper pie.

We are open all day, every day. Dig into breakfast, brunch and pub favourites followed by our hero, the pie, from 12 noon.

The White Horse Holme

The White Horse has been refurbished over the last 12 months with a new menu and decor. They have also opened a new Bakery in the old barn which has delicious cakes and great home made bread available. It's a great place to stop and refresh on the Circular walk from Thornham, or a short drive.

Our local walks

There are lots of walks directly from Fulmar rain or shine. Alternatively the Coastliner 36 is a great assistant to get you to the start or get those tired legs home.

Wells to the Hero at Burnham Overy

This is one of our favourite walks in Summer or Winter, the the promise of great beer and food when we get to The Hero. It's about a 7 mile walk along the North Norfolk Coastal Path in the dunes, pines and a little piece of the sea defences. As ever the no. 36 Coastliner picks up outside The Hero to wisk you back to Fulmar.

White Horse Holme Circular

The White Horse is a great pub and bakery. This is a circular walk from Fulmar. It's just over 7 miles and you get to see sea, sand, birds, vistas and maybe a few hares or marsh harriers.

Fulmar to The Beach Cafe at Old Hunstanton

The Beach Cafe is an institution on the coast. Their breakfasts are worth the walk. It's about 5 miles (or a 10 mile rtn), to the cafe. If you want to get the bus back simply walk up the hill to the Post Office and there is a No. 36 bus stop right there to get you back to Thornham.

Go see some Seals!

We love seeing the seals on the coast. You can get to them easily from Titchwell nature reserve car park or the Brancaster Beach carpark. It is best to see them at low tide, there are usually 10 to 25 there depending on the time of year.

Fulmar to the the NWT Cafe

If you fancy stretching your legs and getting some sea air with a cream tea, head down to the NWT cafe. it's a 2 mile round trip along the sea defenses that gives a great view of the marshes and beach. Note: (strangley) for Norfolk, they don't allow dogs in the cafe, but they do have benches outside.
